DUBAI: The world’s most expensive guitar is currently being showcased in Dubai and playing to the tune of $2 million in all its diamond-encrusted dazzle.
The Eden of Coronet guitar is currently on display at the Lifestyle Jewellers store within the new wing of Ibn Batuta Mall in Dubai.
The unique glittering guitar comes with 400-carat diamonds entrusting this musical instrument with its Guinness World Record title of “Most Valuable Guitar.”
One wonders what riffs Slash could strum on a guitar adorned with 11,441 pieces of diamonds, set in 1.6 kilogrammes of 18K white gold.
Organisers say the masterpiece took a team of 68 artisans 700 days to complete.
The guitar itself was created in collaboration with UAE-based Lifestyle Fine Jewelry’s parent company Aaron Shum Jewelry and designer and songwriter Mark Lui using a Gibson Brands guitar.
The guitar has already been on display in countries including China, the United States, Germany, Italy and now in the UAE.
There was a huge turnout of visitors to the Ibn Batuta Mall to admire the Coronet Diamond Guitar.
“The display of the World’s Most Valuable Guitar for our customers reflects our commitment to show that we are not only pioneers of creating masterpieces, but also trailblazers in the jewellery and fine diamonds world,” said Aaron Shum, President of Aaron Shum Group.
Aaron said the masterpiece is a reflection of designer Lui’s artistic talent. Lui’s efforts were inspired by nature. Featuring the motifs of Coronet, flora and a variety of nature inspired themes.
The value of the guitar was certified in Hong Kong, China on March 15, 2015.
The masterpiece is a joint effort of three distinct brands.
