구글, 시애틀에 사옥 확장 건립 계획 발표 Google plans 4-building expansion in South Lake Union
사우스레이크유니온에 6층 오피스빌딩 4개동
빌 게이츠와 이별 후 부동산 개발업자가 된 폴 앨런
마이크로 소프트사의 공동 창업자인 폴 앨런의 벌칸은 지난 목요일 아마존 본사이전 부지인 시애틀 사우스레이크유니온에
구글의 6층 오피스빌딩 4개동을 건립할 계획이라고 발표했다.

이 빌딩은 로맨틱한 유니온 호수와 첸들러스 코브를 가로지르는 페어웨이뷰와 테리 사이에 있는 유명한 브랜드상점들이 많은 메르세르 스트리트에 친환경 건물로 지어질 예정이다.
구글의 총 607천m2 부지 중 104천m2 부지에는 레스토랑과 상점 그리고 151가구의 15층 이상의 주거빌딩이 들어서게 된다.
건설은 단계적으로 시행되며 2017년에 착수해 2019년에 완료할 예정이다.
빌 게이츠와 공동창업자인 폴 앨런은 종전처럼 절친 사이가 아니다. 풀 앨런이 MS를 떠나며서로를 비난하는 처지가 되었기 때문이다.
블컨의 폴 앨런은 구글의 전 경영진인 라비 자인을 작년 8월 새로운 경영진으로 임명한 바 있으며 CEO인 그의 여자형제인 조디 앨런은 폴 앨런이 림프종 관련 암진단을 받았다고 밝힌 바 있다.
폴 앨런은 현재 우주여행사업에 투자중이며 프로젝트 스페이스십 원이 X 프라이즈를 수상했다. 또 불칸(Vulcan)이라는 회사를 설립하여 시애틀 시내 북쪽의 재개발 사업을 하고 있는 중이다.
참고로 그의 재산은 2014년 기준으로 175억 달러이며 그의 IQ는 170로 알려졌다.

SEATTLE -- Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen’s Vulcan Inc. announced Thursday it is developing four 6-story office buildings for Google in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood, close to Amazon's headquarters.
Vulcan says the project includes four "ecofriendly" buildings and landscaped open space along Mercer Street, between Terry and Fairview Avenues N, across from Lake Union Park and Chandler's Cove.
The buildings will include about 607,000 square feet of office space for Google,14,000 square feet of ground floor retail space for restaurants and shops, and two residential towers as high as 15 stories that will house a total of 151 units.
The project will be built in phases, with construction starting in 2017 and ending in 2019.
