무인 자전거와 전기 자동차 대여 시스템으로 세계적인 관심을 끌었던 파리시가 전기 오토바이 대여 시스템도 도입한다. 파리시는 올여름부터 전기 오토바이 대여 시스템을 운영하겠다고 발표했다고 현지 일간지 르피가로가 4일 보도했다.
시는 배기량 50cc 전기 오토바이 약 1천대를 운영할 계획이다. 오토바이 면허가 있는 20세 이상 성인이 오전 7시부터 다음날 새벽 1시까지 이용할 수 있다. 이용료는 15분당 3유로(약 4천원)이며 스마트폰 애플리케이션을 이용해 전기 오토바이의 장소를 확인해 이용할 수 있다. 전기 오토바이는 1회 충전으로 최대 105㎞까지 갈 수 있다.
파리시는 이미 무인 자전거 대여 시스템인 '벨리브'(Velib)와 전기자동차 대여 시스템 '오토리브(Autolib)'를 도입해 성공리에 운영하고 있다. 기존 벨리브와 오토리브는 모두 전용 주차 및 충전소가 설치된 것과 달리 전기 오토바이는 시 지정 주차장에 아무 곳에나 둘 수 있다. 안 이달고 파리 시장은 파리시 대기오염을 줄이고자 전기 오토바이 대여 시스템을 도입했다.
파리에서는 2014년과 2015년 봄 극심한 대기 오염으로 2년 연속 차량 2부제가 시행된 바 있다.

The company is said to offer 1000 of the quiet mopeds around Paris available to anyone over 20 with a moped license…
According to the Guardian, Cityscoot has been testing 50 of the scooters since last June with the support of city authorities and the results had been “very positive”, the mayor’s office said. “In the last three months 1,200 testers have completed nearly 4,500 journeys,” the office said, adding that 65% of those who took part said they would use the scheme regularly.
We’re obviously big fans of the idea although we imagine that having looked at the video below, riders will want to bring along their own helmet. You also have to wonder how costly it would have been to retrofit the Velibs with Electric motors. There are now going to be 3 types of Vehicle rental stations around Paris.
The upside is that not only will it take petrol scooters off the street, but it will also reduce the noise level of the city – which is a big plus. Cafe-goers will certainly appreciate the reprieve from the noisy and stinky scooters that currently litter the city.
