바라카 원전 2호기의 2천톤에 달하는 격납철판 공정 설치가 성공적으로 완료됐다. 본 공정은 약 15개월이 소요됐다.

    아랍에미레이트의 바라카 원전 2호기가 60% 공정에 도달했다. ENEC에 따르면 원자로 건물의 격납철판(CLP) 설치가 성공적으로 완료됐다고 밝혔다.


격납철판(CLP) 설치공사는 약 15개월 동안 240명의 건설인력 참여해 관련 세부 공정들을 시공했다.


ENEC의 CEO 모하메디 알 하마디는 "2호기의 약 12개월 정도 잔여 공정도  높은 수준의 공사규정을 준수해서 안전하게 추진될 것이며 안전과 품질관리에 집중할 것"이라고  언급했다.


격납철판(CLP)은 높이가 60M(돔부분 포함시 77M) 지름이 45M의 대형 구조물로 앞으로 수개월 내에 원자로 건물 돔부의 콘크리트가 타설될 예정이다


이는 전 공정이 완료된 것을 의미하는 것으로 만일 1~4호기가 이 공정이 모두 완료했을 경우 UAE원전의 대역사는 끝나게 되며 총 5,600MW의 전력을 생산하게 될 것이다. 이 용량은 UAE의 총 소비전력의 25%에 해당하는 양이다.


먼저 시작된 1호기는 약 80%의 공정율을 보이고 있으며 한전과 현대건설 등 한국건설업체들이 시공에 참여하고 있다.


UAE원전은 2020년까지 모두 완공 계획으로 있다.

Unit 2 of the UAE’s Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (Barakah NPP) is almost 60% complete, according to the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC).


The news comes following the successful installation of a containment liner plate at Unit 2’s Reactor Containment Building (RCB).


The 15-month job involved the upper dome to be placed, the pressuriser to be lifted into place, and the roof frame for Unit 2’s main control room to be hoisted. More than 240 construction workers were required during the course of installation.


Commenting on progress at Barakah NPP, Mohamed Al Hammadi, CEO of ENEC, said: “Progress of Unit 2 at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant continues to proceed safely and in adherence to the highest quality standards. 


Each unit’s progression remains scheduled at approximately 12 months apart. This allows our highly skilled workforce to move efficiently and deliberately through their tasks to ensure the safe and timely delivery of the entire project.


“These milestones for Unit 2 are part of the defence-in-depth safety features in the design. The ongoing collaboration and commitment to safety and quality, seen in all our employees and contractors, is one of the great achievements of our programme. I am pleased with how this progress shows how effectively we are driving the commitments of the UAE peaceful nuclear energy programme through all levels of the organisation,” he added.


Unit 2’s containment liner plate is a cylindrical steel shell that forms part of the inner wall, ceiling, and floor lining of the reinforced concrete RCB. The plate’s structure measures almost 60m in height (77m including the dome) and 45m in diameter. The component had to be constructed in multiple stages and parts, including 19 separate liner rings, each 3m in height.


The containment building and associated liner plate houses the reactor vessel. During the coming months, ENEC’s construction team will cover the plate in concrete to complete the RCB’s structure.


Once completed, Barakah NPP’s four reactors will boast a combined generating capacity of approximately 5,600MW, and will supply nearly 25% of electricity demand in the UAE.


Unit 1 is more than 80% complete, whilst Unit 2 is almost 60% complete, according to ENEC.


The UAE’s peaceful nuclear energy programme is scheduled to complete by 2020, at which point Barakah NPP’s Unit 4 will be connected to the grid.
