리커창(李克强) 중국 총리가 중·동부 유럽 16개국 지도자들과 함께 자국 고속철에 탑승해 고속철 세일즈 외교를 벌였다.
지난 24일 쑤저우(蘇州)에서 막을 올린 중국-중·동유럽 국가 정상회의에 참석한 리 총리와 16개국 지도자들은 25일 오전 11시 쑤저우에서 상하이(上海)행 고속철에 탑승했다. 리 총리는 쾌적하고 안전한 중국 고속철에 함께 타자며 각국 지도자들을 초청했다고 신문은 전했다. 이들이 탑승한 고속철은 22분을 달려 상하이 훙차오(虹橋)역에 도착했으며 기념사진을 찍고 헤어졌다. 리 총리는 중국 고속철 세일즈맨으로 불릴 정도로 고속철 외교에 심혈을 기울이고 있다.
25일까지 열린 이번 정상회의에는 알바니아·보스니아 헤르체고비나·불가리아·크로아티아·체코·에스토니아·헝가리·라트비아·리투아니아·마케도니아·몬테네그로·폴란드·루마니아·세르비아·슬로바키아·슬로베니아 등 중·동부 유럽 16개국의 지도자들이 참석했다.
리 총리는 앞서 동유럽국가들의 인프라개발을 위한 국제금융기관 설립을 제안했다. 중·동부 유럽은 중국이 추진중인 일대일로(一帶一路·육상 해상 실크로드)프로젝트의 중요한 지역으로 중국은 고속철을 비롯한 인프라 건설에 적극적이다. 중국의 투자로 헝가리 부다페스트와 세르비아 베오그라드를 잇는 370㎞ 고속철이 2017년 완공 예정이다. 중국은 이 노선을 마케도니아를 통과해 그리스 동남부 항구도시 피레에프스까지 연결할 계획이다. 리 총리는 중국이 향후 5년 간 1조달러(1145조 원)가 넘는 해외 투자를 하게 될 것이며 같은 기간 10조달러 상당의 상품도 수입할 것이라고 밝혔다.

SUZHOU, Jiangsu, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Leaders from Central and Eastern European (CEE) nations will be invited to a ride on a China-made bullet train, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said on Tuesday during an annual China-CEE summit meeting in Suzhou city, east China.
The train ride on Wednesday will be a showcase of China-CEE cooperation, which features not only a high speed, but also comfort and reassurance, Li told reporters.
China has actively sought to export its high-speed rail technology in recent years, with media referring to the premier as the country's top railway salesman.
Tuesday's invitation came minutes after China signed two separate deals with Hungary and Serbia on the construction and revamping of a rail link between the Serbian and Hungarian capitals.
Details of the two deals are not immediately available, but Li had pledged earlier in the day that construction work of the railway would be underway by the end of this year and be finished within two years.
Earlier reports said the high-speed rail link could cut travel time between Budapest and Belgrade by more than half.
Once complete, the railway will help create a fast lane for importing and exporting products between China and Europe.
"The railway not only connects Serbia with Hungary, it also links up to the rail network in southern Europe," Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic told reporters later on Tuesday.
