Suspension bridge in Shiniuzhai Geopark is perfect for thrillseekers who want to make the 300 metre walk while looking down to valley floor

The latest attraction to open in China could be a bridge too far for some to tourists as it's floor is made entirely of glass.

But the construction, which is suspended from the peak of Stone Buddha Mountain in Shiniuzhai Geopark, is ideal for thrillseekers who get a buzz from looking down at the valley 180 metres below.

Rex Features  Terrified: One visitor kneels glass-bottomed suspension bridge in Shiniuzhai National Geopark

The barmy bridge, which is the longest of its kind in the world, was given the see-through treatment after a section of its previous wooden construction was replaced with glass last year.

Thankfully, the panes are 25 times stronger than regular glass so will stand up to plenty of punishment.

It's already been named 'hero bridge' by locals in Pingjiang county, Hunan Province, due to the nerve it takes to complete the terrifying walk.

And when the first visitors tried it out, some had to sink to their knees and crawl along with their eyes screwed shut.

It's the latest of a number of nerve-shredding sites that have cropped up across China in recent years.

A 400 metre-long glass walkway hugs the side of Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie - 1,400 metres above sea level!

Global Times reported a group of workers risked their lives to build it, working without safety harnesses.

One of them, 50-year-old Zhang Jingfa, said: "It's actually not as dangerous as people think it is, as long as you watch out a bit."
