The former World Number One finished on a less than impressive 16 over par - after shooting rounds of 80 and 76 at Chambers Bay.
Earlier on Friday, the three-time tournament champion's game was thrown off after a small plane carrying a banner with the words 'cheater' emblazoned on it circled above.
It was in reference to the 39-year-old's personal life - which has been dogged by allegations of infidelity and led to first wife Elin Nordegren divorcing him.

It will be another blow to the golfer, whose game has been described by his former coach Butch Harmon as 'akin to seeing Roger Federer unable to hit the ball over the net at Wimbledon'.
But Woods insisted he was on the right track despite his worst ever round at the US Open on Thursday.
Off the green, Woods has faced a tumultuous time in his love life over the past few years, dogged by rumors of infidelity.
In May, he split with Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn after dating for over two years.
The Daily Mail online revealed that during 'time apart' Woods cheated on Vonn - with a 'faceless, nameless woman.'
'He had a relapse in the sex department,' a close friend told Daily Mail Online. 'Lindsey found out about women again. Always while he's on the road. Just like when he was with Elin.'
However, Vonn and the pro golfer seemed to part ways amicably.
So does the banner refer to Woods prior history of infidelity with now ex-wife Elin Nordegren?
In 2009, Woods was engulfed in a sex scandal when he was busted for cheating on his wife Nordegren, with hookers, porn stars, strippers and mistresses.

Nordegren, then 29, and mother of his daughter Sam, then 2, and then 11-month-old son Charlie Axel, discovered explicit texts from not one, but several women.
Woods, a chronic insomniac, had just taken an Ambien and was starting to doze when his wife took his cell phone and started texting mistress Rachel Uchitel, pretending to be her husband.
Nordegren, a former Swedish nanny, chased Tiger out of the house with a golf club. He attempted to flee in his 2009 Escalade but crashed into a tree before he could get down the street.
Enraged, she smashed both windows with Tiger's golf club and ended up hitting him, cracking a couple of his front teeth.
A flurry of women came forward - 120 in all - with claims of affairs and kinky, expensive sex with the golf star.
Michelle Braun, 39, a former Hollywood madame who supplied Tiger with call girls six times between 2006 and 2007, told the New York Post that Tiger paid upwards of $40,000 for the 'pay-for-sex dates.'
She claimed Woods paid $15,000 for a date with stunner Loredana Jolie for one night in Manhattan. 'He liked girl-on-girl. He had sex with them together,' Braun said.
Nordegren, now 35, divorced Tiger in 2010, after six years of marriage and was awarded an estimated $200 million.

Woods, ranked Number One in the world at the time of his scandal was treated at the Gentle Path Sex Addiction Center at Pine Grove Behavioral Health and Addiction Services in Hattiesburg, Miss.
'I thought I could get away with whatever I wanted to,' Woods told the media in February 2010.
'I felt that I had worked hard my entire life and deserved to enjoy all the temptations around me. I felt I was entitled. Thanks to money and fame, I didn't have to go far to find them. I was wrong. I was foolish.'
