세계에서 가장 아름다운 스카이라인을 가진 도시는 어디일까. 호주 시드니가 1위를 차지했다. 시카고 CBS방송은 26일(현지시간) 미국의 관광·식음료 정보제공 매체 '스릴리스트'(Thrillist) 발표를 인용, 세계적으로 스카이라인이 아름답기로 유명한 도시 20곳을 소개했다. 시드니에 이어 세계 2위 스카이라인으로 평가된 도시는 홍콩이었으며 3위는 도쿄, 4위 상하이, 5위 쿠알라룸프, 6위 싱가포르, 7위 시애틀, 8위 시카고, 9위 두바이, 10위 토론토 순이었다. 시드니의 스카이라인은 "극적 대조를 이루는 하버 해변의 푸른 물과 흰색 오페라 하우스 뒤로 '과도하게 개발되지 않았지만 인상적인' 고층빌딩군이 놓여 있다"는 평가를 받았다. 미국 내 도시 가운데는 시애틀과 시카고에 이어 샌프란시스코(11위), 로스앤젤레스(12위), 라스베이거스(13위), 뉴욕(15위) 등이 순위에 올랐다. 미국 도시들 틈에서 14위를 차지한 곳은 리우데자네이루, 16위는 밴쿠버, 17위 마카오, 18위 프랑크푸르트, 19위 서울, 20위 중국 광둥성 선전 등이다. 연합뉴스 |
Beauty, as we all learned from watching The Twilight Zone, is a very subjective thing. And while there aren't any cities in the world that people think are beautiful even though they really look like disfigured space aliens, our ideas about what makes a pretty skyline are, well, pretty subjective. Shenzhen, China The thing about China is that they've got a lot of people, as in they've got cities with 10 million residents that many of us haven't even heard of, like Shenzhen, a once-sleepy riverside town turned major economic player that today boasts millions of occupants and 23 buildings over 650 feet tall.

Seoul, South Korea While the largest skyline in both Koreas might not rock any record-shattering broadcast towers or landmark, space-age LED orbs, it is the only cityscape on this list to boast its own dance craze -- and there's definitely something to be said for that.
