Paris-based photographer Maud Chalard shows the beauty of romantic love in her dreamy and enchanting series of photos. The project, captured on film, features the small, intimate moments that couples share. Kisses on the neck, lazy afternoons spent in bed, and intertwined fingers are some of the tender instances that Chalard witnesses with her camera. The images look natural and effortlessly shot as if the subjects didn’t even realize that their pictures were being taken.
Chalard wasn’t familiar with the couples before she photographed them. People got involved by getting in touch with her via Facebook. Once a photo session started, it lasted about two hours, during which they met, had a drink, talked, and the couples told their love story. “It’s important to relax before a session because it’s not easy to get in the privacy of people we do not know,” she tells Buzzfeed.
This isn’t the last we’ll see of Chalard’s delightful project. “For the moment, I’m at the very beginning of my series, so I did not have all the couples I would’ve liked, people from the LGBT community, elderly couples etc., but that will come with time,” she explains to Buzzfeed. We’re looking forward to seeing more!
