앞으로 두바이 시당국의 BIM 의무화 움직임은 건설공사를 적기에 완료하는데 선도적인 역활을 할 것이다.
" BIM은 현재의 설계도면보다 훨씬 개선된 디지탈적 표현이지만 그것과는 별개로 BIM에 많은 정보들을 가지고 있어서 시공 전에 공사에 대한 모든 사항을 알 수 있다.
간단하게 보일지 모르겠지만 BIM시스템에는 실로 엄청난 양의 정보를 가지고 있다"고 오토데스크 담당자는 말한다.
두바이시 당국은 2013년 11월 18일 부터 40층 이상의 건축과 기계전기 배관분야와 9,000m2 이상의 병원이나 대학 그에 준하는 특수빌딩등 과 외국회사들이 시공하는 모든 건축공사에 BIM을 적용하기로 했다.
현재 세계각국에서는 공기와 공사비를 절감하기 위해 BIM시스템을 도입 적용하고 있는 실정이다. 황기철 @conpaper |

Autodesk sees UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia as big drivers for BIM

Dubai: The decision by Dubai Municipality to make Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology mandatory will lead to better buildings built on time, an industry expert said . “BIM is a digital representation of the building rather than a drawing. Apart from that, there is also information inside it.
By doing it digitally upfront; you get all the information before building it.
It sounds simple but it is massive,” said Amar Hanspal, senior vice-president of information, marketing and platform products group at Autodesk.
Dubai Municipality has decided to mandate/dictate BIM for architectural and MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) works for all buildings 40 storeys or higher; facilities/buildings that are 300,000 square feet or larger; all hospitals, universities and other similarly specialised buildings; and all buildings that are being delivered by/through an international party in an important circular dated on November 18, 2013.
BIM has been around for many years, but many governments across the world are making it mandatory to save time and cut costs
