호주 멜버른 '이스트 웨스트 링크 도로사업'이 드디어 2개그룹의 숏리스트(shortlists)로 압축됐다.
빅토리아 주정부는 삼성물산이 참여한 이너스그룹과 이스트웨스트커넥트가 2군데가 최종후보로 선정됐다고 23일 발표했다.

'이스트웨스트 링크'는 민관협력방식(PPP·Public Private Partnership)으로 시행되며 호주 멜버른 서부교외지역과 동부고속도로를 연결하는 18km 도로 프로젝트로 1단계인 4km 터널구간을 포함해서 약 80억불의 공사규모를 자랑한다.
삼성물산이 만일 수주하게 되면 호주 최초로 공공 민자사업에 참여하는 회사가 된다. 이 사업은 8월에 최종낙찰자를 선정하고 올해 말에 착공하게 된다.

The Victorian government has shortlisted two consortia to bid for the eastern section of the East West Link project in Melbourne while Momentum Infrastructure, led by the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ and Leighton Holdings, has been ruled out of the bidding race.
The decision is a setback for Leighton's John Holland business and comes after Leighton said earlier this month it is considering divesting some of its businesses as it focuses on strengthening its balance sheet.
East West Connect and Inner Link have been shortlisted to build and operate the first stage of the East West Link, said Treasurer Michael O’Brien and Roads Minister Terry Mulder in a statement on Monday.
Consortium East West Connect is comprised of Lend Lease, Capella Capital, Acciona Infrastructure, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Bouygues Construction, while rival Inner Link is backed by Ferrovial Agroman and its financing arm, Cintra, Samsung C&T Corp, Italian tunneling expert Ghella, Uberior Infrastructure Investments, Transfield Services and Macquarie Capital.
“The Coalition Government is on track to announce the successful tenderer in October, with construction to commence in late 2014,” Mr Mulder said.
The link is a proposed 18 kilometre tolled connection between Melbourne's western suburbs and Eastern Freeway, with the first stage comprising a tunnel of over 4 kilometres estimated to cost as much as $8 billion.

The Inner Link Group Consortium comprises Cintra Infraestructuras S.A, Retail Employees Superannuation, Samsung C&T Corporation, Ferrovial Agroman (Australia), Ghella, Transfield Services (Australia), and Macquarie Capital (Australia) Pty Ltd. The group has been involved in significant local and international projects including 407ETR (Canada); EastLink (Melbourne); Incheon Bridge (South Korea) and Legacy Way (Brisbane).
East West Connect
The East West Connect Consortium comprises Capella Capital, Lend Lease, Acciona and Bouygues. Members have experience in significant projects both in Australian and overseas, including Legacy Way (Brisbane), Pajares Tunnel (Spain), Peninsula Link (Melbourne) and Port of Miami Tunnel (Miami).
