방탄소년단(BTS), 한국 최초 미 3대 음악상 '어메리칸 뮤직 어워드' 수상 공연 때문 시상식 참석 못해   그룹 방탄소년단이 한국 그룹 최초로 미국 '아메리칸 뮤직 어워즈'에서 수상했습니다. 방탄소년단은 현지시간으로 9일 미국 로스앤젤레스 마이크로소프트 공연장에서 열린 '2018 아메리칸 뮤직 어워즈'에서 '페이보릿 소셜 아티스트' 상을 받았습니다.  아메리칸 뮤직어워즈는 빌보드 뮤직어워즈, 그래미 뮤직어워즈와 함께 미국 3대 음악 시상식으로 꼽힙니다. 영국 공연 때문에 시상식에 불참한 방탄소년단은 영상을 통해 수상 소감을 전했습니다.  연합뉴스TV

Just a few minutes before the 2018 American Music Awards officially kicked off on Tuesday night (Oct. 9), BTS had already scored its first win.

The K-pop megagroup snagged the award for Favorite Social Artist, beating out Cardi B, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and Shawn Mendes.

The win comes after BTS scored the Top Social Artist Award at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards earlier in May. But it doesn’t come as a surprise, thanks to the hardcore support from the group’s ARMY fanbase.

The AMA award is the latest milestone for BTS, as they recently became the first South Korean musicians to host an American stadium show at its New York City’s Citi Field concert on Oct. 6.
