국내외 11개 작품 상영
오는 11월 2~3일 대한극장에서 제8회 북한인권국제영화제가 열린다.
북한인권국제영화제는 사단법인 북한민주화네트워크가 주관하는 행사로 영화를 통해 북한인권의 현실과 한반도 통일의 필요성을 알려왔다. 2011년에 첫 발을 내디딘 후로, 매년 세계 각국의 우수한 작품을 포함해 영화제 조직위원회가 직접 제작한 작품을 상영하고 있다.

이번 제8회 영화제에서는 목숨을 건 탈북 이야기를 담은 ‘매콩강에 악어가 산다’, 중국 시골에 강제로 팔려간 탈북 여성의 이야기를 담은 ‘마담B’ 등 11개 국내외 작품을 상영한다.

10 teenage North Korean refugees live with a South Korean man named Kim Tae Hoon at a teenage North Korean defector group called ‘family’. Some of them came alone; others escaped with their parents, but were not able to live with them under negative circumstances. Although they share no blood, the children and their uncle are becoming ‘our family’.

This is a road documentary movie about a journey of four North & South Koran young men following the road of escaping North Korea. The purpose of the movie is to raise awareness of the reality of North Korea, and point out the difference between the awareness of North and South. Through the story of the young North Korean defector who risked his life to escape North Korea, you can learn ‘what kind of memories can be created by fear, how can memory be distorted and deleted’ with self-introspection.

Seolji has been a defector for two years, and is a bright young lady who works hard in a flower shop. Seolji was a propaganda painter in North Korean and sometimes she paints a mural as a part-time job. Then one day, she appears as ‘Hongdae Mural Woman’. Broadcasting station PD Shin woong, who is in a crisis of extinction, seeks to recognize her and make a big documentary, but she is worried about her parents in the north.
