LONDON, (KBTX)- Texas A&M construction science students were in London during spring break putting their skills to the test at Constructionarium.

영국의 토목현장 실습장인 콘스트럭셔나리움(Constructionarium) 

미국의 텍사스 오스틴대의 건설과학과 학생들이 영국의 토목건설 훈련장인 

콘스트럭셔나리움(Constructionarium)에 입소하여 사장교의 스케일을 축소하여 건설하는 실습을 했다.

이번 텍사스 오스틴대 학부 학생들의 실습은 봄방학을 맞이해서 런던에서 시행됐다

크기만 작을 뿐이지 실제 상황과 거의 흡사한 상황에서 실습으로 후에 일선에서 

바로 사용할 수 있는 경험을 축적할 수 있다.

콘스트럭셔나리움은 영국 에섹스에 있는 앵글리아 러스킨대학에서 

운영하고 있으며 교량 댐 등 각종 토목 구조물을 소형으로 건설하는 실습장이다.

앵글리아 러스킨대학은 캠브리지와 첼므스포드에 소재하고 있으며 텍사스 오스틴 공대와 

커뮤니케이션학과는 세계 톱 10안에 든다.

In the program’s final academic week, students served as project managers, safety officers, accounting and scheduling heads to build a scaled-down replica of The Gherkin, a distinctive London skyscraper, and the Millau Viaduct, the world’s tallest bridge.

The projects are completed on a 15-acre site in northeast England.

Established over ten years ago, Constructionarium provides a hands-on construction experience for students and professionals; where participants construct scaled down versions of bridges, buildings, dams and civil engineering projects from all around the world.

The principle is to link academic institutes with industry and to ensure that the students are able to apply the knowledge they have gained in a practical, safe and relevant environment.

Texas A&M’s construction science students are the only U.S. students who build structures at the site.

In addition to studying in the U.K., students from the College of Architecture also learn in semester-long, study abroad venues in Italy, Spain, Germany and in shorter programs in China, Japan and Costa Rica.
