Japanese firms to rebuild parts of National Road 5

일본이 캄보디아 공공사업교통부(Ministry of Public Works and Transport)가
발주한 캄보디아 5번 국도(프렉담∼뜨레맘 구간) 135.25km 3개 공구를 수주했다.
총수주액은 2억4천6백만불 규모로 스미모토 미쓰이건설과 한국의 한신공영과
계약 체결이 이루어졌다.
한신공영은 이중 3공구를 수주했으며 수주액은 약 909억원 규모다.
이 구간은 아시안하이웨이의 캄보디아 노선으로 일본 JICA 재원으로 건설된다.

National Road 5 from Prek Kdam in Phnom Penh to Thlea Ma’am in Pursat province, a total distance of 135.25 kilometres, will be renovated by a Japanese company as part of the Asian Highway.
The Ministry of Public Works and Transport and two Japanese companies on Wednesday held a contract signing ceremony for the National Road 5 improvement project.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the improvements to the southern section of Road 5, Prek Kadam-Thlea Ma’am covering 135.25km, will be implemented in three contract packages for a construction period of four years and will cost approximately $246.35 million.
The two contactors are Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Co, Ltd and Hanshin Engineering and Construction Co, Ltd.
Sun Chanthol, the Minister of Public Works and Transport, said Road 5 must be improved for travel and transportation.
“Road 5 is a very important road for connecting the Asian Highway. We must improve it. The companies will build a high quality road,” he said.
