The USS Michigan, an 18,000-metric tonne submarine, is scheduled to arrive in the South Korean port of Busan by this weekend.

The deadly submarine is equipped with 54 Tomahawk missiles that are capable of hitting targets up to 2253 km away.

Basan port is 525 km away from the North Korean capital of Pyongyang – well within strike range of the USS Michigan’s missiles.

The deployment comes as analysts fear North Korea may be about to test another hydrogen bomb or ballistic missile.
