A South Korean lawmaker has warned that North Korea transported another intercontinental ballistic missile just days after it detonated its most powerful nuclear device yet.

Kim Byung-kee, who attended a briefing by South Korea’s National Intelligence Service, said it was unclear when the movement was detected, in what direction it was or how the missile was being transported, CNN reported.

His warning comes as North Korea diplomat Han Tae Song declared his government is ready to send “more gift packages” to the US if the Trump administration continues to make “reckless provocations” to pressure Pyongyang to abandon its weapons programs.

North Korea conducted the military drill as “an exercise of restraint and justified self-defense right” to counter “the ever-growing and decade-long US nuclear threat and hostile policy aimed at isolating my country,” Han told members of a forum in Geneva.

Pyongyang exploded a hydrogen bomb Sunday — its sixth and most powerful blast. In July, it successfully test-fired two ICBMs with the capability to strike the US mainland.

At an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on Monday, US Ambassador Nikki Haley blasted North Korean despot Kim Jung-un’s “abusive use of missiles” and said he is “begging for war.”

The United States is pushing China, the hermit kingdom’s main trading partner, to support more severe sanctions against the North.

But Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has urged the US to use diplomacy to settle the standoff, said giving up weapons of mass destruction doesn’t guarantee survival for a country’s leaders.

“We all remember what happened with Iraq and Saddam Hussein,” Putin said. “His children were killed, I think his grandson was shot, the whole country was destroyed and Saddam Hussein was hanged . . . We all know how this happened and people in North Korea remember well what happened in Iraq.”

But White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the administration’s priority is a denuclearized Korean Peninsula and will continue to pressure the regime.

“We’ve been clear about what our priorities are, that now is not the time for us to spend a lot of time focused on talking with North Korea, but putting all measures of pressure that we can, and we’re going to continue through that process,” she said.

Trump, asked Monday by reporters whether his administration would resort to military action against North Korea, said, “We’ll see.”

Previously he said the US would respond with “fire and fury” to continuing threats from the regime.
