There’s no doubt that safety and productivity are directly affected by the ability to see what you're working on and be seen by others.  There are plenty of lighting options available that attach to hard hats, but there’s only one (that we know of) that provides 360 degree lighting: The Halo Light by Illumagear.

As we mentioned in another post a few months ago, the Halo Light received a recent upgrade when it switched from a wired battery pack that clipped to a belt buckle to a completely cordless, rechargeable battery version. Ditching the cord was an excellent move, because no longer have to worry about the cord getting caught on something around the job site or dropping the battery pack.

You don’t have to worry about dropping the Halo Light, either, as it’s been tested for a 25 foot drop from a scissor lift.  It’s also withstood being run over by a Jeep, immersed in water, abused in a toolbox, and buried in mud.  Suffice to say, it’s built for a construction site.

The Halo Light, which just slips right on your hard hat and stays put with the help of patented security clips, is compatible with most hard hats on the market, including at least 16 different manufacturers. The light itself only weighs 10 ounces and it’s barely even noticeable when it’s on.

But, again, what really sets the Halo Light apart is that it’s a 360 degree lighting solution.  It’s not JUST personal lighting, it can illuminate an entire room, making it easier for others to see around you.  It’s also easier for others to see you from all angles, which is a huge bonus for safety.  For road workers, the hi-alert mode (shown in the .gif at the top of the page) is an amazing safety feature, as it has fluctuating luminosity, instead of just a static light.

The Halo Light, including 1 rechargeable lithium-ion battery, is available for $99.  For an additional $24.99, you can also grab a battery charger. Be sure to check out the video below to see how the light works!

Alright, enough about how great the Halo Light is, let’s get to the part where you can WIN one….
