Jubail: Private sector opportunities worth $150bn

    사우디 주베일은 한국의 대표적 건설회사인 현대건설 등이 오래전부터 건설프로젝트에 참여해왔던 지역이다.

사우디는 유가하락에 따른 재정상태의 악화로 많은 사업들을 민간 분야로 유도하고 있다.

주베일의 공공기관의 산업통합관리 임원인 압둘라 에이드는 70개의 투자 기회가 대규모 기관들과 민간분야 회사들에게 주어질 것이며 앞으로 개최될 산업회의에서 공개될 것이라 발표했다. 

주베일에 투자되는 금액은 인프라 시설을 포함해 산업시설 주거 및 상업지구 프로젝트 등 약 1,500억불에 달한다.

에이드는 또 "정부 기관이 민간기업이 참여해 이미 사업이 진행 중인 플라스틱 파크를 포함해 다국적 기업을 위한 공간을 만들어 줄 예정"이라고 언급했다.

Eng Abdullah Eid, director of industrial integration management in the Mecca Royal Commission in Jubail, announced that 70 investment opportunities will soon be available to institutions and private sector companies in the province in Saudi Arabia.

He said that the opportunities are to be unveiled at an upcoming industry conference.

"The total investment opportunity in "Jubail" reaches upwards of $150bn, including infrastructure works, industrial, residential and commercial projects."

Eid said the commission has made space for multinational companies to operate in, including the Plastic Park, where the private sector is already involved and production underway.
