Fugro completes geotechnical investigation for world’s longest immersed tunne

Fugro has completed a nearshore geotechnical investigation for the Fehmarnbelt Tunnel, the world’s longest immersed tunnel that will connect Denmark and Germany by road and rail. The client was Femern Link Contractors, the consortium building the 18 km tunnel that will reduce travel time between the two countries and contribute to a greener transport system.

페마른벨트 터널은 총길이 18km 도로 철도 해저터널이다. 독일 페마른 섬과 페마른벨트 해협을 거쳐 덴마크 롤란 섬을 연결한다. 2021년에 착공하여 2029년에 개통될 예정이다.

지질회사인 푸그로는 덴마크와 독일을 도로와 철도로 연결하는 세계에서 가장 긴 침하 터널인 페흐마른벨트 터널에 대한 근해 지질조사를 마쳤다. 시공사는 Femern Link Contractors로, 두 나라 사이의 이동 시간을 줄이고 보다 친환경적인 운송 시스템에 기여할 수 있는 18km 터널을 건설하는 프로젝트 컨소시엄이다.

푸그로는 지난 10년 동안 페흐마른벨트 터널 프로젝트에 참여했으며, 초기 현장 조사 작업부터 현재의 지질 공학 연구까지 수행했다. 이 최신 단계는 터널 입구와 덴마크 측의 중공 콘크리트 터널 요소가 만들어지는 생산 시설에 대한 해저 토양의 지질학적 현장 특성화를 포함했다.

페마른벨트 터널은

덴마크 롤란드 섬과 독일 페흐마른 섬을 연결하기 위해 현재 건설되고 있는 침매 터널이다. 북독일과 롤란드, 덴마크령 섬인 뉴질랜드와 코펜하겐을 직접 연결시켜, 세계에서 가장 긴 도로와 철도 터널이 될 것이며, 중부 유럽과 스칸디나비아 사이의 주요 연결점이 될 것이다. 롤랜드-페흐만 간 이동시간을 페리로 45분에서 차로 10분, 기차로 7분으로 단축한다 전기화된 고속 철도는 200 km/h (120mph)에 도달할 수 있다.

Fugro has been involved in the Fehmarnbelt Tunnel project for the last 10 years, from early site investigation work up to the current geotechnical study. This latest phase included geotechnical site characterisation of the sub-seabed soil at both tunnel entrances and, on the Danish side, the production facility where the hollow concrete tunnel elements are being made.

Fugro deployed their Skate 3 jack-up platform, a custom-designed geotechnical spread, and a specialist data acquisition team to perform core drilling and downhole cone penetration tests. The resulting data were then analysed to determine subsurface uncertainty to reduce the contractor’s and client’s ground risk exposure by providing secured geotechnical design input parameters.
