멀쩡한 도로가 푹 꺼졌다···두 여성 삼킨 中싱크홀, CCTV 포착 집중호우가 이어진 중국 충칭(重慶)에서 갑자기 도로가 꺼지는 싱크홀이 발생, 행인들이 추락하는 등 피해를 입었다고 영국 매체 데일리메일이 28일(현지시각) 보도했다.

싱크홀은 행인 두 명이 걸어가는 가운데 일어났다. 현장의 폐쇄회로TV(CCTV)에도 두 여성이 길을 걷고 있는데 갑자기 땅이 가라앉는 모습이 담겼다. 두 보행자는 갈라진 땅 사이로 추락하면서 화면에서 사라진다. 두 사람은 구조대원에 구조됐고, 가벼운 상처를 입고 근처 병원에서 검사와 치료를 받고 있다고 외신은 전했다.
싱크홀이 발생한 도로엔 거대한 구멍이 생겨 경찰은 도로를 봉쇄했다. 중국 당국은 집중호우가 싱크홀의 원인이라고 보고 조사를 진행 중이다. 싱크홀은 폭우로 갑자기 지하수 흐름이 증가하거나 상하수도관이 파열되는 등 비정상적인 물의 흐름이 빈 공간을 만드는 게 원인으로 알려져 있다. 싱크홀 피해를 입은 한 여성은 영상에서 “갑자기 땅 밑으로 떨어졌고, 돌더미에 발이 끼었다”고 당시 상황을 전했다.
중국 창강(長江·양쯔강) 일대에는 폭우가 두 달 넘게 계속되면서 피해가 늘고 있다. 싱크홀이 발생한 충칭은 장강 상류 대도시다. 충칭에선 지금까지 최소 4명이 숨졌다고 전해진다. 불어난 강물에 저지대가 잠기면서 주택 700여채가 무너졌고, 주민 4300여명이 대피했다. 큰 강들이 범람했거나 범람할 위기에 놓였다. 중국 충칭에서 싱크홀이 발생, 행인들이 갈라진 땅 속으로 추락했다. Traffic police said that they had sealed off the road after the incident occurred yesterday evening in Chongqing’s Wulong district.
Surveillance footage captures the shocking moment two female pedestrians were dropped into a giant sinkhole after the sidewalk suddenly collapsed.
Local firefighters are seen in the video searching for the residents in the debris after being called to the scene.
An onlooker can be heard saying: ‘You can’t even see them.’

They are said to have been in stable condition with minor injuries, according to reports.
The authorities told The Paper that the accident was caused by a landslide due to heavy downpours in the region, according to their initial inspection. A further investigation into the cause is underway.
