트럼프 대통령은 오늘(26일) 트위터를 통해, 존 볼튼 국가안보보좌관이 전날(25일) '단거리 탄도미사일'로 규정한 북한의 발사체를 '작은 무기들'로 규정하며, 볼튼 보좌관과 이견을 노출했습니다.

Security Council resolutions and said sanctions must be kept in place. Washington's position on the North's denuclearization is consistent and a repeated pattern of failures to rid North Korea of nuclear weapons should be stopped, Bolton said, defending the recent U.S. seizure of a North Korean cargo ship. The U.S., however, is willing to resume talks with North Korea at any time, Bolton said. Bolton was speaking to reporters in Tokyo ahead of President Donald Trump's arrival for a four-day visit to Japan. Trump later downplayed the recent North Korean missile tests, tweeting from Tokyo that they're not a concern for him — even though they are for Japan. |

트럼프 대통령은 트위터에서 "북한이 일부 나의 사람들과 다른 사람들을 거슬리게 하는 작은 무기들을 일부 발사했지만, 나는 아니다. 나는 김 위원장이 나에게 한 약속을 지킬 것이라고 확신을 갖고 있다"고 말했습니다.
주요 매체들은 트럼프 대통령이 볼튼 보좌관의 전날 발언을 에둘러 반박하며 김정은 북한 국무위원장의 비핵화 약속에 대한 신뢰를 표했다고 풀이하고 있습니다.
앞서 볼튼 보좌관은 25일, 도쿄에서 기자들과 만나 “유엔안보리는 북한의 어떤 종류의 탄도미사일 발사도 금지하고 있다"면서 안보리 결의 위반 측면에서 의심할 여지가 없다”고 전했습니다.
볼튼 보좌관은 또 “지난 하노이 정상회담의 기조는 변하지 않았고 북한 지도부는 트럼프 대통령의 시각을 잘 알고 있다”며 “북한이 핵 무기를 포기하는 전략적 결정을 했다는 것을 보여주기 전까지 제재는 유지된다”고 강조했습니다.
이어 “오는 27일 열릴 예정인 미일 정상회담에서 도널드 트럼프 대통령과 아베 신조 일본 총리가 안보리 결의의 완전성을 확실히 유지하는 방안을 논의할 것으로 생각한다”며 북한에 대한 압박 수위를 높였습니다.
