Nov. 16, 2015. Migrants arrive by a Turkish boat near the village of Skala, on the Greek island of Lesbos. The Turkish boat owner delivered about 150 people to the Greek coast and tried to escape back to Turkey; he was arrested in Turkish waters.

    플리처상 100회 공공부문 수상자는 동남아 어선의 노예 노동을 다룬 'Associated Press(AP)통신'에게로 돌아갔다.

이 상은 각 부문별로 수여되는 총 21개 중 가장 권위있고 영예로운 상으로 꼽힌다.

AP통신은 동남아시아 어선 노동자들이 대미 수출용 유통 해산물 어패류 가공 등으로 가혹한 환경 아래에서 노동을 강요당하는 실태를 폭로했으며 이 결과로 2천 명의 노동자들이 해방되었고 관련 관계자들도 모두 처벌됐다.

수상자는 AP의 마타 멘도사, 로빈 맥도웰, 에스터 투산, 마기 메이슨이다.
