프랑스 파리에서 발생한 동시다발 테러의 무고한 희생자를 애도하기 위해 전세계 랜드마크 건축물들이 프랑스를 상징하는 청백색 삼색 조명으로, 혹은 조명을 모두 끈 채 암흑으로 애도의 뜻을 표했다
14일 밤(현지시간) 중국 상하이의 대표적인 랜드마크 건축물인 둥팡밍주(東方明珠) 타워는 테러 희생자를 애도하는 의미로 프랑스 국기를 상징하는 파란색, 흰색, 붉은색 조명을 비췄다.
이번 삼색 조명 점등행사에는 둥팡밍주 타워와 함께 세계고층건물협회(WFGT)에 소속된 23개 회원사가 이번 테러가 발생한 파리의 에펠탑에 애도의 뜻을 전하기 위해 대거 참여했다.
대만의 타이베이(台北) 101 타워 역시 삼색 조명을 비췄다.
이에 앞서 뉴욕의 9·11테러 자리에 새로 세워진 원 월드트레이드센터, 워싱턴스퀘어아치, 샌프란시스코 시청사 등 미국의 주요건물들도 자유·평등·박애의 불빛을 밝혔다.
영국 런던의 명물 관람차 런던 아이와 웸블리 경기장, 독일 베를린의 브란덴부르크 문 등 유럽 각국의 주요 건물에서 삼색조명이 비춰졌다.
이와 함께 이스라엘 예루살렘의 통곡의 벽, 캐나다 토론토의 CN 타워, 호주 시드니 오페라하우스와 캔버라의 국가종탑, 브라질 리우데자네이루의 그리스도상, 멕시코 상원의사당 등도 삼색조명으로 애도를 전했다.
반면 조명을 모두 끄고 어두운 모습으로 희생자를 기린 곳도 있었다.
테러 이후 입장이 무기한 중단된 프랑스 파리의 에펠탑은 테러 희생자를 추모하는 의미에서 조명을 끄고 어두운 모습으로 시민을 맞았다.
한때 삼색조명을 환하게 점등했던 뉴욕 엠파이어스테이트 빌딩도 14일 밤에는 조명을 모두 끈채 조용히 애도를 표했다.
